BIKE RACKS

If you need to carry luggage while cycling - such as commuting or for a cycle touring holiday, you will probably need to fit a luggage rack to your bike. A rack will enable you to carry larger bags.
Carrying bags on your bike is preferable to carrying a rucksack - especially if you intend to carry a lot of weight...

Basic Rear Bike Rack

This rack will take a rackpack or panniers. Pannier racks are usually built from aluminium rods. Tubus pannier racks are made from steel tube - very strong, very light and easy to repair in the event of failure.

Triple Stay Rear Bike Rack

The extra stays (legs) on this type of rack stop larger panniers flopping around and add a bit more stiffness to the rack itself. This type of rack bolts to bike frame.

Beam Bicycle Rack

This type of rack bolts on to the seatpost of your bike. Suitable for full-suspension bikes or light use - very easy to fit and remove - ideal for commuting...

Front Bike Rack

For cycletouring, using both front and rear pannier racks spread the weight evenly on the bicycle - giving better handling.
A "lowrider" front rack centers the weight near the wheel hub to make steering a fully-loaded bike easier.

Car Bike Racks

If you are taking your bike away with you, it's easier and cleaner to carry it on a bike rack. Always lock your bike(s) if you leave the car unattended!
